It's their duty to guide their flocks in through the temple's doors and to its belly. The doors are jaws, and they can't be locked. To survive, the temple has to eat the worshippers. For a pilgrim, it's really not what they had expected to find here. But they never thought to provide their deity with sustenance.

It's their duty to guide their thoughts to a place where blankness is a virtue, but the fury with which they sought everything they wanted shows you who they really are. Watch when they get caught--they will tell you that they don't remember, but the air was hot with their fury at the time the incident occurred.

This thing has stood for centuries. No one but the victims go inside it. No, not even priests, who claim to know a god they can't even face. People fought and fought for the right to build a nicer temple. I'm just trying to warn you lot, the temple's victims are digested for days....
